POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: Defending champion Paolo Antenorcruz proves to the judges he has what it takes to compete on TNT. Yesterday was a close fight and still, he was able to nab his second win. Daily winner Mari Mar Parayao, equally talented with Paolo, challenged him singing “Dahil Sa’yo” by Pilita Corales. Paolo’s win was a decision the judges had difficulty in making since Mari Mar also gave impressive performances. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sept 21 contenders, daily winner, and champion

Kris Angelica Dela Cruz from Laguna sings “Sirena” by Gloc 9.  This daddy’s girl would do anything for her dream. Kris’ mom worked abroad and recently, her mom and had to separate because of some differences. Now, its only Kris and her dad. Her performances today is one she dedicates to her father.

Judge Ogie Alcasid was really impressed on how she performed Gloc 9’s song which is usually interpreted by a singer and a rapper. Kris was able to do both. For that, Ogie gave her a 10/10 score. Judge Nyoy Volante agreed with Ogie and said he was also very impressed on how she performed such a very challenging song.

Floryn Rose Vergara from Bohol sings “Pangako” by Regine Velasquez. Floryn joined TNT in March 2016. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it. But, since her exposure on the show last year, she became known in her community until a music school hired her to teach vocal lessons. Aside from joining singing contests for a living, she’s now trying to make it as a singer abroad.

Head judge Rey Valera explained how difficult it was to sing the song most especially the first note. He said Floryn wasn’t able to hit that first note but was still able to give an ok performance. He advised Floryn to try her luck here in the Philippines first before she goes abroad.

Kevin Murillo from Surigao del Sur sings “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” Ogie Alcasid. Kevin and his family run a small vulcanizing shop. His brother had to work abroad to help provide for the family and bring him to school. Now that Kevin has graduated, he hopes that he could also help provide for the family. He hopes he could work as a teacher and be known as a singer as well.

Judge K Brosas said Kevin’s performance was too perfect. She hoped that he showed a bit more vulnerability. But all in all, Kevin did a spot on job.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sept 21 daily winner, face-off, and champion. Thursday daily winner garnering an average score of 93.6 percent is contender from Luzon, Kris Angelica Dela Cruz.

For the face-off, Kris Angelica sang “Bridge Over Troubled Waters.” She sure did give a performance the judges enjoyed. K Brosas and Nyoy were seen smiling and nodding while Kris sang every note of her song with much power and grit. Defending champion Paolo Antenorcruz, on the other hand, sang “The Last Time” by Eric Benet. Who wins this battle?

TNT Sept 21 champion winning with an average score of 93.8 percent is Paolo Antenorcruz. This is Paolo’s third win on the show. Two more and he makes it as TNT semifinalist.
