Teriyaki Boy SM Baguio

When it comes to treating yourself especially with Japanese food, a taste isn’t enough. With Japanese food, you go all out. That’s how I’d like to think about it at least. There are just so many wonderful flavors in the cuisine that it’s hard to capture it all with one dish. And oh boy, when you’re craving, one isn’t enough. Thankfully, Japanese cuisine isn’t new to Baguio City. There are plenty of places where you can get top-notch ramen or fresh sushi. But, among all those, one that remains a go-to classic of mine is Teriyaki Boy.

In all honestly, while exploring other options, I’ve had times when Teriyaki Boy would go down lower and lower on my list of go tos. Sometimes, I’d even agree with my friends who think it’s overrated. But, each time I go back, the visit reminds me why the place was on my list in the first place. And it reminds me why I’d love to keep going back.

Teriyaki Boy: An Explosion of Japanese Flavors That Keeps You Coming Back

First off, Teriyaki Boy has everything I’m always looking for. I love places that specialize in certain meals because they really get the best of the flavors. But, in Teriyaki Boy, you have plenty of just as flavorful options. When it’s cold, I usually go for their miso soup first. And I accompany it with some Gyoza if not any of their rolls. Their rolls also don’t disappoint. And it’s always served in such an appetizing way that you simply have to appreciate it for a minute or two. Just those could make me a happy kid. And I’m not even breaking my wallet yet.

If I want something more filling, I’d go for their Donburi or Tonkatsu. Sometimes, I’d also go for sashimi. It’s hard to resist it because the salmon is always fresh. And it’s always so buttery. With the perfect dip, I could probably eat more than one plate on my own. Milk tea lovers would also surely love their milk tea options. Their coffee jelly and Japanese roasted are just the right amount of sweet. And it balances out all the savory flavors of their dishes. The boba, however, is a little undercooked for my liking.

The best part about all this is that Teriyaki Boy keeps upgrading. Their menu keeps evolving. Recently, they’ve upgraded their California Maki Rolls to the Lava Roll and Fried California Roll. The crispy skin of the fried California roll adds great texture to the usual version. And each bite proves to be such a delight. The lava roll, on the other hand, can get a little messy but, it’s definitely worth it.  Each of these is immediately filling. So, my tip is to take a friend with you to devour these.

Speaking of friends, Teriyaki Boy also has new Donburi rice bowls. For P399, you and a buddy can get two bowls of their signature teriyaki chicken or their tori katsu. Both have tender meats. But, what I love most about these dishes are the vegetable tempura. They could probably serve this as a single appetizer and I’d get it every time.

Teriyaki Boy never disappoints when it comes to quality food. You also get the bonus of the ambiance. With their comfortable space, you get to fully enjoy the experience as well as the flavors. Plus, you can satisfy your cravings and hunger at a good price point. The budget is always a big thing for me when it comes to cravings. And sometimes, it’s the reason these cravings get thrown down the gutter. Fortunately, Teriyaki Boy lets me satisfy my Japanese food cravings without breaking the bank. And for that one bit, I am one satisfied and happy woman.

So, whenever you start craving for Japanese food, keep Teriyaki Boy in mind. If their meals make your mouth water from just the pictures, trust me, they’ll be better in real life. Teriyaki Boy is located at the 2nd level of SM City Baguio.
