As previously announced, the final pit stop will be in Bali, Indonesia. Only three teams remain: husband and wife team Eric and Rona from the Philippines, former beauty queens Maggie and Parul, also from the Philippines, and Malaysian beauty queens Yvonne and Chloe. #AXNTARA Eastern Java to Bali Team 1 of Eric and Rona open their clue and find out that they need to travel by ferry to Bali and find a place in Sanur, in the island of Bali. The rest of the two teams also leave a few minutes after for the ferry terminal. Once at the terminal, Eric and Rona bought their tickets and boarded the ferry, which left without the two other teams on board. The two other teams rode another ferry. Once in the terminal, teams must ride a taxi from Rumanuk to Sanur, which takes about 3 hours. Eric and Rona arrived in Sanur first. #AXNTARA Penjor Bamboo Art and Panjat Pinang The task at hand for the teams is to assemble Penjors or ornamental bamboo poles. These poles have to be decorated properly and a Penjor artist must approve what they have done. Once they get the approval, teams must carry two of these poles to a designated area and put them up. They will receive their next clue when done. Eric and Rona were first to finish the task. Even though Yvonne and Chloe arrived ahead of Maggie and Parul, they finished the task last due to some detail that they missed. Maggie and Parul followed the other Filipino team in the next task. Both all girl teams found the bamboo poles very heavy thus slowing them down. The next task involves Panjat Pinang, or the climbing of a bamboo pole in order to retrieve certain items. Although it looks easy to do, it takes time because teams have to do it one by one. Once again, Eric and Rona came out of this first. #AXNTARA A Spot of Lobster Fishing The next task takes the teams to the beach, where they need to assemble an outrigger boat. Once assembled, teams must ride the boats to a marked area and find a submerged lobster trap with a marker. The task is clearly another one where attention to detail is important, and Eric struggles with the task initially. Maggie and Parul eventually discover that no one needs to check their work and that they should make sure the boat stays afloat. When Eric and Rona realize the same as Maggie and Parul push off their boat, they go off too. Both teams reach the designated areas on the beach and start looking for the marked lobster cage. Eric and Rona find one first, but Maggie and Parul are not far behind. Eric and Rona get their next clue first. The clue tells them to go to a Balinese temple called Pura Samuantiga where they find their next clue. They however did not find a taxi, not unlike Maggie and Parul who got a taxi first. The husband and wife team manage to get one but the taxi driver does not know where the place is. So they needed to get off and find another. Find out what’s got @eruption23 and @rownita anxious! Just 2hrs more to the EPIC Grand finale at 9pm! #AXNTARA #TARAEricRona #TARAFinale pic.twitter.com/LTXOm1aXCU — AXNPH (@AXNPH) December 15, 2016 Yvonne and Chloe on the other hand, get some local help to call a taxi. Maggie and Parul however were unlucky enough to get a slow taxi driver. Eric and Rona encounter the same. Surprisingly, Yvonne and Chloe arrive in Pura Samiantiga first. #AXNTARA Roadblock: Going Coconuts The next task is a memory game. A player must arrange three coconuts with names and symbols chronologically on a traditional board. Allan says it is supposed to be three coconuts per leg, but the trick is that there are extra coconuts in each pile, which will likely confuse the player. Chloe takes on the task for Team Malaysia, while Maggie decides to do it for her team. Eric and Rona on the other hand are still on the road. Once they arrive, Rona was the one who took on the task. We hope @rownita’s not on the brink of giving up as she struggles to figure out this challenge! #AXNTARA #TARAFinale pic.twitter.com/uyqcQXEoA7 — TheAmazingRaceAsia (@AmazingRaceAsia) December 15, 2016 All three teams struggle with the memory game, with each team getting a no from a judge often. Eventually, Maggie figures out that it should only be three coconuts. Maggie and Parul get the clue first and they continue to struggle with their driver. Chloe and Yvonne followed next, leaving Rona getting frustrated with the roadblock. The moment has come!
