The Death Of Samantha Imperial In ‘La Luna Sangre,’ Twitterverse reacts, Theories

On the End Of Curse episode of ABS-CBN’s bloodthirsty primetime series ‘La Luna Sangre,’ Moonchasers mother hen Samantha Imperial (Maricar Reyes-Poon) just got annihilated by half-brother and evil vampire king Supremo Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez). This brutal manslaughter had been a huge heartbreaking moment for the ‘La Luna Sangre’ fans. But it does not deviate the fact that Samantha Imperial’s ‘curse’ of living immortally in a wicked world, had finally been lifted.

We all know that besides Sam’s role as the guide for our protagonists like Malia (Kathryn Bernardo), she also safekeeps the condition of all other immortals by protecting certain prophecies. One of which would be Jethro’s (Dino Imperial) prophecy of seeing Malia holding hands with Tristan (Daniel Padilla) on a full moon. And she’s done the best that she could to keep them safe– she’s served as one of the greatest characters of the story.

‘La Luna Sangre’ End of Curse Recap: Samantha Imperial Dies

Sam had always been busy trying to save lives as the leader of the Moonchasers. But when Jacintha Magsaysay walked in, Sam just found herself her newest BFF. It’s no joke that the tandem had been an interesting element in the storytelling of ‘La Luna Sangre.’ They had this fierce, sexy air around them that screamed ‘girl power.’

The episode goes: When Jacintha’s (Angel Locsin) identity of being Lia Ortega was slowly realized by Barang–Sandrino and Sam’s surrogate mom, the Lady in Red had no choice but to end Barang’s life to keep her mouth shut. And when Sandrino set to perform his death sentence for this ‘Lady in Red,’ Sam disguised herself as his target. After vanquishing the disguised Lady in Red, Sandrino discovered and wrongfully assumed that it had been Sam that killed their surrogate mom. So instead of almost feeling sorry, he felt fulfilled.

Tears were shed in these quiet moments of “La Luna Sangre.” But netizens were pretty loud on Twitter:

Netizens react on Twitter about Sam Imperial Death

One user expressed how much he believed that Samantha Imperial was definitely one of the ‘greatest characters’ of the story. Another expected that this would happen sooner or later.

For another user, he begged not to kill Sam since she had so much more to bring to the story. Meanwhile, some users are confident that the Lady in White isn’t over just yet. And she’s still got a final act for the fans. Speaking of speculations, here are the theories for Samantha Imperial’s death:

Theories on Samantha Imperial’s death: What’s next for ‘La Luna Sangre?’

1. She’s not dead yet. This isn’t a far-fetched theory. We all know that in the first book ‘Imortal,’ Sam had tried to end her life after being bitten by Lucas (Rico Blanco). And after countless tries, she had been successful. But in book two: ‘The Hidden Chapters of Imortal: Anino’t Panaginip,’ we find out that she had in fact failed and she was finally enlightened about her purpose in life. This could be another ‘failed attempt’ to end Sam’s life. Now we may all think that Sandrino is the only one who is able to kill her. But think about it, if he actually failed to kill Lia Ortega in the first place, this be the same case for Sam in the near future? Are we going to expect another jam-packed intro of the Lady in White?

2. Giving way for Jacintha Magsaysay. If you look at the two from a certain perspective, you will realize that they both have somewhat similar functions in the story. Both protectors and saviors of the main characters. Specifically, they’re both focused on stopping the evil doings of Sandrino and his goons. With Sam gone, Jacintha is left with a much heavier burden– responsibility over the whole situation, and of course, the Moonchasers. This may sound like a negative thing for everyone, but it could also be a positive note. Jacintha seems to be a very level-headed individual, and she’s got what it takes to handle the situation. So it’s a matter of giving her the chance to do what she needs to do.
