Barry (Grant Gustin)proceeds to investigate, only to find that the object is not a meteor, and is in fact, an alien spaceship. Hostile aliens emerge from the craft, knocking Barry down. He exclaims “Aliens!” before the episode formally begins. The Flash “Invasion!” Heroes Unite Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) arrives at Central City to brief Team Flash on the situation. She informs them of the “Dominators.” They are a hostile alien race who had landed on Earth in the past. It is revealed that four scout ships had landed in total. The Dominators also delivered a warning against all acts of aggression toward them. Lyla warns Barry and his friends to stay away from the Dominators. Team Flash agrees that they can’t just sit and do nothing. He travels to Star City to find Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), and saving Oliver and John Diggle (David Ramsey) from Vigilante (Josh Segarra) in the process. Thea Queen (Willa Holland) overhears about the alien threat, and volunteers to join. Oliver sets up a meeting with the Legends, while Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) travel to Earth-38 to enlist Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Flashpoint: Barry Allen’s Warning from the Future The heroes begin training to fight the Dominators. Oliver decides that Barry should lead the team in the upcoming fight, though the latter appears less than enthusiastic. Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) and Professor Stein (Victor Garber) approach Barry and reveal to him a message they had found in the Waverider. It is a warning from Barry himself 40 years in the future, addressed to Rip Hunter. It says that Barry cannot be trusted, possibly due to the events he had triggered in Flashpoint. Cisco discovers the recording, and Barry explains what it means to the rest of the heroes. The heroes are shocked by the implications of Barry’s actions. John is especially affected when he finds out that Barry had erased a daughter from his life. It is also revealed that Professor Stein’s life has been altered; he now has a daughter of his own. Flash decides to sit the upcoming fight out. Oliver is against the idea, and stays behind with Barry. “Invasion!” Heroes vs Heroes; Kid Flash Tests his Powers The West family is hesitant to encourage Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) to use his speed. This is despite the fact that his rate of progress is much better than Barry’s was when he had just gotten his power. Wally figures out that no one wants him to take up a superhero mantle. He approaches HR Wells (Tom Cavanagh), hoping he could train him to use his speed, but HR declines. Meanwhile, the Dominators manage to kidnap the President of the United States. They use him as bait to lure the heroes out. When the heroes show up to save the President, they fall to a mind-control device, and are sent to eliminate the rest of their allies at STAR Labs. Oliver and Barry fend off their mind-controlled friends. Wally, knowing the odds of them holding on are thin, rushes in to help them. He incapacitates three of the assailants before Supergirl knocks him down. Caitlin and Cisco get a location on the mind-control device, and Barry lures Supergirl toward it. She tries to ram into Barry, but Barry phases through her, sending her crashing into the device, and freeing their comrades. Kid Flash Begins his Training; Dominators Abduct the Heroes Wally’s family scolds him for his recklessness. However, they seem more relieved that he is alright. HR approaches him and comments how his family can’t see his potential. HR agrees to train him. The group celebrates their small victory over the Dominators. They tell Flash that message or no message, they intend to be there for him either way. Immediately after, a tractor beam pulls the team into space, leaving Flash on his own.
