In less than a week, Cathy Garcia-Molina’s latest movie The Hows of Us starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla has smashed box office records. It is also receiving rave reviews from both fans and fellow actors alike.

The new KathNiel movie, ‘The Hows Of Us’ talks about reasons why long-term couples drift apart and choose to stay. Kathryn plays the character George in the movie, a soon to be doctor while Daniel plays Primo an aspiring musician, the couple go through bumps in their relationship that almost all long-term couples do.

When a movie hits P35 million on its first day of screening you know its worth looking into. According to ABS CBN, it earned P35,938,622.74 million to be exact and approximately P280 million in only five days. If those numbers don’t speak for themselves, the crazy positive reviews and A-level rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board should do it.

2. KathNiel

The most beloved love team hits us with their come-back film ‘The Hows Of Us’. People online are edging the couple on, raving about their talents on screen and their execution of emotions is quite undeniable.

3. Direk Cathy’s Retirement

The talented Cathy Garcia-Molina is set to retire by 2019. In a report from ABS CBN she says, “More than half of my life, I have served; it’s time that I serve my children”. Due to a limited number of major projects left on her plate, ‘The Hows Of Us’ is the fifth of now four major projects before her retirement. The possibility that this is the last movie the trio will undertake together is high.

4. Story Line

The story was written by Carmi Raymundo. It looks at the observed tendency of millennials to quickly lose interest or give up. This is regarding jobs and relationships.

The relatability of the movie is undeniable with regards to the two characters Kathryn and Daniel play, both of whom have their own ambitions and career paths leading to hardships in their relationships. The classic questions of priorities in-not only-millennial life.

The fan reviews have spoken. A ton of the tweets from fans saying that these types of movies are the best to be discussed among friends and how the film helps give people some perspective on their current relationships.

Direk Cathy says she wants viewers to believe that there is a reason to stay in long-term relationships because it has been a “question I’ve been meaning to ask millennials.” Even more, ‘The Hows Of Us’ book is also set to be released soon. 

The Movie teaches people to have hope and that endings aren’t always what we expect them to be.

#TheHowsOfUs is the kind of movie that needs to be discussed over beers with friends after watching it. Medyo mabigat siya (in a good way). My problem now is that I went straight home after the premiere and will most likely be up thinking about the film for hours before I sleep.
