Adapting Dune from the book is no easy feat, Frank Herbert wrote the book full of internal monologue and thoughts. But Dune enjoyers can never deny the detail in the novel’s world-building with hundreds of words for its languages, cultures, and religions. The world of Dune was realized and created by science fiction novel writer Frank Herbert in 1965. Denis Villeneuve Denis Villeneuve, the director of both Dune films, is one of the best directors currently in the industry today. His past productions, “Arrival” and “Blade Runner 2049” whom are masterpieces with high ratings which makes him the right director for adapting Dune. “Dune: Part Two” carries on the stunning visuals crafted by director Villeneuve and cinematographer Greig Fraser in the first movie. The wide angle shots showcase Arrakis’ sweeping deserts and the brutalist structures. The film’s ability to showcase magnificence is amazing, immersing viewers in its alien landscapes. It balances this vastness with moments of extreme close-ups for interactions between characters which connects the viewers to the screen. Score Hans Zimmer, one of the best composers of the industry, was the one who composed the cinematic scores of the film and as expected, it never disappoints. It fits with the world of Dune and how it portrays an alien planet inhabited by people with diverse culture. Conclusion Throughout the film, there are sequences that will leave you rooted to your seat. Paul’s experiences within the Fremen is immersive and intense, capturing his struggle for control and reaching success. The scenes set on the Harkonnen planet evoke sheer terror. The stark black-and-white cinematography, combined with the sinister and oppressive atmosphere, sends shivers down the spine. The climactic battle at the end of the film is perfection.
