After the live Top 10 performances last November 29, voting results were announced during the November 30 live show. In between performances by country star Dolly Parton and the Voice judges, host Carson Daly shared the results of America’s votes.
Seven Voted Safe: Brendan Fletcher, Sundance Head, Christian Cuevas
According to a recap by Heavy, Carson Daly announced the results as the show went on. Among the first to be revealed as having made it to the Top 8 were Team Adam’s Brendan Fletcher and Team Blake’s Sundance Head. Both singers also had the top two downloaded singles on iTunes for Sundance’s rendition of “Me and Jesus” and Brendan’s own take of “True Colors,” as number one and two respectively.
Right after a commercial, the show came back and Carson announced the next contestant that was safe came from Team Alicia: Christian Cuevas.
Seven Voted Safe: Ali Caldwell, Billy Gillman, We McDonald, Josh Gallagher
Carson then named the first safe contestant from Team Miley and this was Ali Caldwell. This was followed by two other names, Billy Gillman and We McDonald, who were voted by America to be saved. Gillman comes from Team Adam while McDonald is with Team Alicia.
After Dolly Parton performed “Jolene” with acapella group Pentatonix and Miley, Carson went on to name the final contestant to be part of the Top 8. Adam’s team remained intact after it was announced that Josh Gallagher was safe.
Courtney Harrell, Austin Allsup, Aaron Gibson Sing For Survival, Who is Going Home on Nov 30?
Finally, the three contestants with the lowest votes were revealed: Courtney Harrell and Austin Allsup of Team Blake and Aaron Gibson of Team Miley. The three performed what was possibly their final performance in The Voice.
Courtney Harrell chose “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts, while Austin Allsup also sang a country song “Tennessee Whiskey.” Aaron Gibson sang “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright.” After their performances, the Twitter voting window opened.
America voted for Aaron Gibson, leaving Courtney Harrell and Austin Allsup out of the race. Next week’s show will feature the start of the semi-finals.
