Like the finales of the previous seasons, each artist gets to perform three times in the two-hour live show. Each artist will sing a song of choice and an original song. They will also perform one song with their coaches. In tonight’s show, Adam takes to the stage twice with two of his artists. Alicia on the other hand performed with We while Blake had a number with Sundance. The Voice Top 4 Billy Gilman Performances According to BuddyTV, Billy Gilman’s performances tonight further proved that he is one of the main contenders in the competition. His rendition of “My Way” not only showcased his powerful and high voice, but it also showed his emotional connection to the song. His performance may not have been perfect all throughout, but he still belts it out and wow the audience. Watch: The Voice 2016 Billy Gilman – Finale: “My Way” The original song Billy performed was “Because Of Me,” which is said to have been composed originally for Adam Levine as Maroon 5’s lead singer. According to BuddyTV, this song signified the kind of sound Billy wants to be known for, after shedding his country sound that he was known for when he was a kid. And it seems that this song does suit him and his voice. The live blog said that the song “shows off all the beauty of Billy’s voice, and singing this song appears to be effortless for him.” Watch: The Voice 2016 Billy Gilman – Finale: “Because of Me” Billy took to the stage with his coach Adam and performed a fun number with the song “Bye Bye Love.” Once again, his pop sensibilities come out, showing that he can also do an upbeat and pop number. The Voice Top 4 We McDonald Performances The youngest artist in the top 4, We McDonald, performed the traditional “Ave Maria” with her coach, Alicia. The two artists demonstrated how in tune they are with each other during the number. As for We, she sang some parts of the song with her signature deep voice while showing off her not often heard “operatic” voice in other other parts. For her original song performance, she sang “Wishes,” a song that conveyed a powerful message – that anyone can achieve anything they want, and nobody can put them down. According to the live blog, this time around she has proven that she is no longer a shy teenage artist, and has become “a strong performer.” Watch: The Voice 2016 We McDonald – Finale: “Wishes” Her other finale performance was “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” from “Funny Girl.” The song is a considerably difficult song, but she does it effortlessly. She also injected her very own style to the performance. The live blog noted that coach Alicia was not mistaken in choosing this song for We. Her voice and her stage presence allowed her to “slay” this performance once again. Watch: The Voice 2016 We McDonald – Finale: “Don’t Rain On My Parade” The Voice Top 4 Sundance Head Performances Team Blake’s Sundance Head once again showed that he deserves to be in the final four. His original song performance is “Darlin’ Don’t Go,” a song that he apparently wrote for his wife at a time when they were in the brink of calling it quits. His powerful vocals coupled with the powerful emotions that he wished to convey through this song resulted in one powerful performance. He also sounded very much like a professional country recording artist. Watch: The Voice 2016 Sundance Head – Finale: “Darlin’ Don’t Go” Combining country with R&B, he chose to sing “At Last” originally by Etta James, for his final performance tonight. BuddyTV cited that he was able to achieve “an impossible feat” and he “pulls it off like it is nothing.” Even the coaches were amazed. Watch: The Voice 2016 Sundance Head – Finale: “At Last” He clearly had a lot of fun during his number with coach Blake Shelton. They chose to perform Roy Head’s “Treat Her Right,” which turned out to be quite an entertaining number. The Voice Top 4 Josh Gallagher Performances Josh Gallagher is generally considered to be the weakest artist in the Top 4, and in fact, his inclusion in the final four took a lot of people by surprise. Was he able to show his best yet during the live finale show? For BuddyTV, he may not have cut it tonight. For example, although his original song “Pick Any Small Town” showed off his country vocals, this performance “don’t really stand out enough.” Although Josh is a talented artist, he lacks the “star power” that the other three finalists have. Watch: The Voice 2016 Josh Gallagher – Finale: “Pick Any Small Town” Adam Levine took the stage with Josh, singing Santana’s rock ballad “Smooth.” While Adam may have been comfortable with the song, Josh was not really showing off that he can do rock as well. With his final performance which is his very own rendition of John Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane,” Josh tries to redeem himself. He gets everyone on their feet and dancing to his version of a country rock classic. Watch: The Voice 2016 Josh Gallagher – Finale: “Jack and Diane” Tomorrow, December 13, the second part of the “The Voice” Season 11 finale will continue. During the three-hour episode, Bruno Mars and Sting are among the performers, and the rest of the world will find out who will win “The Voice” Season 11.
