One more night’s sleep to go and The Voice Teens Philippines will premiere on ABS-CBN, on April 16 at 7:00 p.m. Touted as the first of its kind in Asia, this version of the reality singing competition will bring together young artists aged 13 to 19 years old.
The premiere episode will naturally start with the blind auditions where this season’s coaches: Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo and Sharon Cuneta will convince young talents to be part of their team.
Get To Know The Voice Teens Philippines Coaches
The Voice Teens will have four celebrity judges, each with their unique contribution to the Philippine music industry. The line up of coaches was confirmed in early March, after news about Sarah Geronimo’s return to the franchise. She took a break as a coach for one season.
Lea Salonga returns as one of the coaches, and brings with her her invaluable experience as a Broadway star and performer. She was The Voice Kids winning coach last year, after Joshua Oliveros won the season.
Sarah Geronimo also comes back after a one season hiatus. She said that she is doing this to help aspiring young singers and noted that she herself went through the same things they are going through now. Sarah coached The Voice Kids winner Lyca Gairanod and The Voice Philippines winner Jason Dy.
Bamboo is in the red chair once again, and this time, he is hoping to find another winner like that of Elha Nympha, who won the 2015 The Voice Kids.
Sharon Cuneta joins The Voice Teens and this is only her second season in the franchise. She replaced Sarah in the third season of The Voice Kids.
The Voice Teens Coaches Perform Next In Line
According to the official Facebook page of The Voice Teens, a unique collaboration of the coaches will also premiere on April 16. In a preview video, the four coaches come together to sing Next In Line, originally sung by After Image.
