2017 Releases Still Making Money

This time around, instead of a board game, the characters are transported into a video game version. This adventure film was also released for Real D 3D and IMAX theaters.
Star Wars Episode VIII remains high on the list, but the film also was the highest grossing film for 2017 with over US$1.3 billion earnings in the box office.
The movie about life in the Barnum and Bailey Circus, The Greatest Showman was also released in Dec. 2017. In Jan. 2018, it earned almost US$89 million. Ticket sales are still going strong within Febuary, according to Statista.com.

2018 Releases Gaining Momentum
Maze Runner: Death Cure, a dystopian science fiction film, is the third installment of the Maze Runner film series. The first film The Maze Runner (2014) was considered a commercial success and so was its sequel, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015). It’s no surprise that the final film is going that way too. As of Jan. 2018, it grossed over US$40 million in ticket sales. In Feb. 2018, it also clocked over US$45 million in box office sales.
