Image via verified Facebook channel Share on Facebook Share on Twitter So it’s been a week since the release of the trailer for the newest Transformers movie, “Transformers: The Last Knight.” Despite what audiences may think of Michael Bay, the trailer itself seems pretty impressive as far as movie previews go. It gives a sneak peak of the action, it doesn’t spoil the story, and it hints at the potential conflicts. But what else can a keen-eyed observer pick out from it? Let’s find out. READ | ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Movie Trailer Out, Watch Michael Bay’s Teaser ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ — Unicron’s Movie Debut 1:15 into the trailer, the audience sees a planet-sized mechanical object preparing to devour the moon. This machine is a fan-favorite villain known as Unicron. Considered by many to be the greatest opponent the Autobots have ever faced, Unicron is the Transformers equivalent of Marvel’s Galactus. His involvement in the story leads to the second theory which is… The Final Death Of Optimus Prime Director Michael Bay has played this card before, as portrayed in 2009’s Revenge of the Fallen. However, that death was not permanent, as Optimus was simply resurrected in time for the film’s climactic battle. The appearance of Unicron however, is often associated with Optimus Prime’s actual death as seen in the 1986 animated film “Transformers: The Movie.” Hot Rod And The Debut Of Rodimus Prime Also associated with the death of Optimus Prime is the rise of a new Prime in his stead. The lamborghini seen racing through london at 1:45 in the trailer is suspected to be Hot Rod; another fan-favorite autobot audiences haven’t seen so far. If Michael Bay plans on pleasing his fans at all, Hot Rod will likely receive the Matrix of Leadership from Optimus Prime, and take the name Rodimus Prime. Battle On The Surface Of Unicron, Potential Appearance Of Primus In the trailer, 1:25 and 1:55 seem to be hinting that part of the movie will include a battle on the actual surface of Unicron. Potentially, the battle could take place inside the planet-sized robot as well… at least until he inevitably transforms into his true form. Primus is canonically considered as the counterpart to Unicron, and is the creator-god of the Transformers. This massive, sentient machine is also the planet Cybertron itself. While Cybertron has been established by the movies as “destroyed,” Primus is a multiversal being, just like Unicron. And thus, may still live in other planes of existence. Will Primus make an appearance? Considering he is the last defense against Unicron, then hopefully. “Transformers: The Last Knight” will premiere in cinemas in June 2017.
