Buckle up because this 2018, telenovelas are going to give us a ride across all kinds of stories. From tales of the supernatural to complicated love stories– ABS-CBN and GMA-7 have got you covered. Unfortunately, there will be some shows that are concluding this year, but that’s nothing to be sad about. Because that only means there are more stories to come. Here’s a list of teleseryes coming soon, continuing and ending this 2018:
ABS-CBN: Teleseryes to end this 2018
1. “La Luna Sangre.” The third installment of the famed “Lobo” is soon coming to an end sometime this February. It’s mighty time to see how far Malia and Tristan go to strengthen their love against the notorious Supremo.
2. “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” While it may be rated as one of the most-watched telenovelas at the time, it’s been in the limelight a little too long. Viewers can pretty much attest to knowing ample information about crime prevention tips. Better get a good look at Coco Martin before the cast says goodbye!
3. “Pusong Ligaw.” The classic story revolving around the friendship of Tessa and Marga is in its final chapter. Surely, fans have learned a thing or two about love, relationships, and deception. The last episode airs on January 12.
4. “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.” Beginning May last year, the metaphorical marathon in this series is also reaching its denouement this January 26. Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson will have to reach a satisfying ending, fast.
5. “Wildflower.” Maja Salvador’s story as Lily Cruz began last year February, and has since taught all of us a thing or two about power and wit in a deceiving world. Will she reach her justified goal in the end? Find out on its finale.
ABS-CBN: Ongoing teleseryes this 2018
1. “The Good Son.” The feud among four brothers are yet to reach a verdict. Still with the erupting issues from their father’s death– the drama is about to get stickier.
2. “Hanggang Saan.” The series starring real-time mother and son Sylvia Sanchez and Arjo Atayde isn’t going to end anytime soon. After all, it was only in November that it began airing. Prepare to face some legal drama with the episodes ahead.
ABS-CBN: Upcoming Teleseryes this 2018
1. “Asintado.” The literal translation of this is ‘Accuracy.’ The reason for the title? Not sure yet. But we do know that it will star a new love team: Julia Montes and Aljur Abrenica. It’s going to be a story of revenge and jealousy– juicy stuff. It will premiere this January 15.
2. “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso.” Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap are going to reunite in this new program. It’s been almost four years since the last time the love team paired up in “Be Careful With My Heart.” Now, they will also be joined by action star Robin Padilla.
3. “The Blood Sisters.” On this unlikely telenovela, Erich Gonzales three different characters who all look alike. Watch how this story will unfold this February.
4. “Bagani.” LizQuen will be teaming up in this action-fantasy flick with a dip in some history. Click here to read 5 Things to know about Bagani.
5. “Love Will Lead You Back.” time for a bit of drama and romance. Here’s a soap opera starring Jericho Rosales, Sam Milby, Yen Santos and Sam Concepcion. Watch with your eyes, not with your heart– if you don’t want heartaches anytime soon.
6. “Nostalgia.” According to actress Alice Dixson who is part of the cast in this show, it will certainly be an ‘epic.’ She also describes this to be a ‘very romeo and juliet’ type of love story. It’s also been rumored that the JoshLia loveteam will pair up for this series– including Jameson Blake.
7. “No Ordinary Love.” ABS-CBN says that this story narrates how Piolo Pascual’s character falls in love with a younger woman– to be played by Arci Muñoz. There will also be guest stars such as Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de Rossi from hit movie “Kita Kita.”
8. “Playhouse.” Finally, there’s another love team that will visit your screens and it looks like this’ll be gearing toward comedy. Starring Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo– the duo will play the roles of a couple about to break up. But as soon as they are about to, a new challenge faces them. Watch how their love story grows– either stronger or apart.
GMA: Teleseryes to end this 2018
1. “My Korean Jagiya.” K-Pop girl Gia’s romantic ties with her superstar crush Kim Jun Ho will need to reach a happy ending because the show will end on January 12. Surely, it will inspire girls to be positive and reach out to your man if love wills you to.
2. “Road Trip.” The reality show starring celebrities and their reflections is also come to a close this 2018. While there have been tons of realizations and personal issues that have taught the stars a thing or two about life, so have the viewers.
3. “Super Ma’am.” Marian Rivera’s superpower days will also be reaching an end with episodes that could count up to a hundred.
4. “Impostora.” Nimfa’s time as Rosette will be winding up this 2018 as well. Pretending game is up, Nimfa. Will she get her happy ending though? Better watch out for that one.
GMA: Ongoing teleseryes this 2018
1. “Haplos.” The fate of witchcraft and sorcery isn’t going to end any time soon. So get a good gulp of the supernatural with this.
2. “Kambal Karibal.” Beginning on late November, Criselda and Crisanta’s love triangle is far from concluding. It’s only a matter of time before Criselda’s spirit reaches her goals– and you have to be there to watch.
GMA: Upcoming teleseryes this 2018
1. “The One That Got Away.” Basing it from Katy Perry’s song, the tragic love story that you’re probably expecting isn’t this show. Instead, we have three women who were, at one point their lives, romantically involved with the same guy named Liam– Dennis Trillo. Watch as their weird little friendship unfold on January 15.
2. “Sirkus.” To premiere this January 21, catch a glimpse of some drama-fantasy starring Mikoy Morales and Mikee Quintos.
3. “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka.” On a unique perspective, this drama-romance series sheds the light on HIV. It stars Yasmien Kurdi and Mike Tan. It will begin airing on January 29.
4. “Sherlock Jr.” For fans of BBC’s “Sherlock,” here’s a fiilipino version of the show. But in this case, it’s more of a legal drama. Watch as Ruru Madrid takes on the role of Stephen or Sherlock this January 29.
5. “The Stepdaughters.” With little information about this drama series, we do know that Megan Young and Katrina Halili will be starring. Could they be the ‘step-daughters’ from the title? More likely. But it’s better to find out ‘cause it’s coming out this February!
6. “Contessa.” To premiere this March, Glaiza de Castro and Lauren Young will be engaging in a drama-romance unlike any other. ‘Contessa’ actually means an Italian countess– so will it be featuring some Italian reference? It’s possible.
7. “Boys Over Flowers.” The hit korean soap opera from 2008 is coming back to your screens! Get nostalgic with Gum Jan Di’s bangs and four wealthy korean oppas!
8. “Close to You.” GMA has not really revealed much about this series– this is because it might be coming out sometime mid-2018 or later. All we do know, according to PEP is that it’s a tale of love ‘finally coming true.’
9. “The Cure.” Time for some interesting suspense thrillers! This series will be about a family trying to survive amidst a great epidemic that turns people into zombies.
10. “Descendants of the Sun.” Again to hit your screens would be the 2016 hit korean drama romance flick in a war-torn setting. Fall in love all over again with Captain Yoo Shi Jin and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon!
11. “Sanggang Dikit.” With another of GMA’s supernatural vibes coming through, this upcoming telenovela will be depicting ‘struggles against evil forces.’
Other GMA-7 telenovelas that were announced, PEP says, are the following romantically-themed shows: “Isang Libo’t Isang Gabi,” “Karibal Ko Ang Aking Ina,” and “La Soltera.” There are also reality programs that are coming back such as “The Clash,” “Center Stage,” “Lip Sync Battle PH,” and “Starstruck.”
