Twitterverse on #SingleAkoKasi, Valentine’s Hugot Lines

Lavish dates. Expensive chocolates. Fragrant flowers. Life-size stuffed toys. Look around you, and you’ll see one, or maybe you are holding one right now. It’s Valentine’s Day! Many are out to spend the day with their loved ones, while others, are on the internet sulking over why they are single. Or maybe not?

Twitterverse was in uproar. Netizens currently throwing out their hugot lines and are revealing the reasons why they are single this Valentine’s Day with the hashtag #SingleAkoKasi.

The #SingleAkoKasi was the official hashtag of Love Radio Manila’s DJ Lloyd Cadena for his evening segment with her co-DJ, Kara Karinyosa. The trending event made the hashtag place 7th in the Philippine’s trend list as netizens poured out their emotions for not having a Valentine date. Some are heartbroken for being single on a Valentine’s Day, while others just make fun of themselves for their consistency of being single every year.

There are different types of #SingleAkoKasi trenders. First: the hurting ones, like @CassieKaine who said, “#SingleAkoKasi I’m always the best friend. Never the girlfriend.” Next are the positive ones – @Paaambiihira who said “#SingleAkoKasi  I need to love myself better. After I gave so much love away, it’s time to give myself the love it deserves.”

Third, are the ones who are in a long distance relationship; or should I say, in an imaginary relationship? @BaeVeee said, “#SingleAkoKasi Korea sya, Pilipinas lang ako. 2,621 kilometers tho.” Last are the guarded ones like DJ Lloyd Cadena himself who stated, “Prevention is better than cure. #SingleAkoKasi.”
