Donald Trump Win: Twitter Reactions You Must See

Donald Trump in Manchester, New Hampshire, during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

The official announcement of the Trump win was made early Wednesday morning, November 9. As Americans woke up to the news, celebrities and regular people alike took to Twitter to voice out their reactions. Twitter reactions ranged from the angry, the funny and witty, the scared and sad. In between, reactions of hope and encouragement were few and far between.

Trump Win: Celebrities React

Among the celebrities who voiced out what they felt about the news, Katy Perry tweeted a series of messages calling on people to “rise up” and “move.” As a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter, she said that people should not let themselves be ruled by hate.

Another singer, Lily Allen also expressed her anger, calling the new President a “moronic orange misogynist” who lacks the qualifications to be a head of state.

Many of the tweets can be classified as expressing sadness and lack of hope. Ryan Reynolds shared one such tweet, saying that he actually watched “Frozen” without his daughter, which for him, was the saddest thing he has done.

In the same sad note, singer Melissa Etheridge tweeted that on this day, she weeps for the country. At the same time, she also looks at how best to explain what is happening to her loved ones.

Like Etheridge and Reynolds, actress Gabrielle Union also shared her sadness. Her message however had the same hint of fighting back as that of Katy Perry’s.

A handful of celebrities called for keeping strong and calm in the midst of what’s happening. Among these were Kris Jenner and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Trump Win: Funniest Tweets Came From Regular People

While celebrities voiced out their feelings about the Trump win, regular Twitter users had a field day churning out the funniest tweets so far. According to a Bored Panda compilation, some of the funniest reactions had to do with migration, migrants, political qualifications, and the color orange.

First on the list is comedian Joe Heenan’s post about being fair when it comes to getting one’s share of bad news.

With Trump’s political qualifications in the spotlight more than ever, here are two tweets poking fun at it.

With Trump’s strong opinions against migrants and immigrants, one tweet went as far as saying that even the Statue of Liberty is scared of the new president because she is, after all, French.

When it came to “flight” reactions, the best ones can be found on Reddit and Imgur. Indicating that migration to other countries may be a better option, here are two of the funniest memes.
