The Voice Season 11 October 24 Knockouts Recap: Miley Cyrus singing along to ‘The Climb’

Miley Cyrus sings along to "The Climb"

Talk about throwback! In The Voice Season 11 October 24 Knockout Round, Miley Cyrus sang along as Sundance Head performed her 2009 hit, “The Climb.” The 3-second shot of nostalgic Miley singing from her rotating chair totally pulled heartstrings.

The Voice 2016: Adam Levine And Coach Blake Shelton Give Their Take

After Sundance Head’s beautiful acoustic version of the song, the judges were left in admiration for the old-school country singer. Adam felt that, “No one with that big of a beard has ever covered a Miley Cyrus song.” Blake, on the other hand, says that the song choice was blowing the brains out of his head.

At the end of that Knockout, Blake decided to go for Sundance saying, “Sundance, even as he’s standing there right now he’s like a statue. It’s like, are you alive? Are you breathing?” he explains. “That’s the thing about Sundance, it’s like, what’s going to happen? Then all of a sudden that voice comes out of there and it literally blows the brains out of my head, into the toilet, and the toilet flushes itself.”

Tim McGraw And Faith Hill Felt That “The Climb” Was Right Song Choice

During rehearsals, Blake said that “The Climb” for Sundance was a risky song choice. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, however, stood by the decision to have Sundance give it a shot. After the 2-minute performance, the song turned from pop to soul.
