Anatalia Villaranda, The Voice 2017

Fil-Am teenager Anatalia Villaranda moves up to the next level of The Voice 2017. She beat out fellow teenager Dawson Coyle in the Knockout Rounds on the April 4 episode of the show. She will represent Team Alicia in the upcoming Live Shows.

She joins other Team Alicia members Chris Blue and Ashley Levin, who won their respective Knockouts last April 3. The next round starts a week from now after all the knockouts are finished.

Anatalia Villaranda Versus Dawson Coyle

Anatalia chose Carrie Underwood’s Two Black Cadillacs for her knockout song. Unlike the previous season where individual artists had one-on-one rehearsals, this season, the paired artists will get to watch each other rehearse and interact with their coach. As shown in the Knockouts premiere, artists definitely felt additional pressure when they see each other perform.

Dawson Coyle chose Demons by Imagine Dragons. During their Knockout round, Anatalia showed how powerful her voice was. Her song choice let her demonstrate her control in her voice because it is a modern country song. Dawson, on the other hand, continued to show an emotional edginess to his voice.

While both singers slayed their performance, Alicia chose Anatalia as the winner of the knockout.

Anatalia Is Only Filipino Left In The Competition

The young singer, however, is the only Filipino left in the competition. The other Fil-Am, Gabi Borromeo, left the show early on during the Battle Rounds.

Coach Adam Levine chose Mark Isaiah over Gabi, after both performers sang Pillow Talk during the premiere episode of the battles. During rehearsals with special guest John Legend, she was told to let go of some of her sweetness and put in a little more rasp.

Alicia Keys, on the other hand, only has one young artist in her team, which is Anatalia. With two more knockouts to go, Team Alicia will be ready for the live shows.
