Voting Begins For 2017 Asia Artist Awards

Get ready to vote for your favorite artists because the Asia Artist Awards have returned! The awards ceremony, held for the first time last year, will take place in Seoul on November 16, 2017. Super Junior’s Leeteuk also returns as the show’s energetic MC. The AAA recognizes artists from all over Asia for their achievements in music and television. Last year, awards were given for 16 categories, including Best Celebrity, Best Star, Best Rookie, and the greatest award of all: the Grand Prize (Daesang). Each category awards a television actor and a music artist.

‘Fans Popularity Award’

Last year, K-pop groups such as EXO and BTS swept the awards with the help of their fans. This year, fans from Asia, Europe, North America, and South America get the chance to influence results with the new “Fans Popularity Award.” The Asia Artist Awards uses two rounds of fan voting to decide this huge awards. Round One takes place from September 20 to October 10 and the top 50 with the most votes move on to Round Two. Every day, fans get to pick their favorite music artist, television actor, and television actress at the AAA website.

At the moment, EXO seems to be leading with their star-power at 107,060 votes in the music artist category. BTS might be catching up soon though with 104,371 votes. Then in the television actor category, Do Kyung Soo boasts a huge lead of 84,560 votes. And for the actresses, we have Bae Suzy with 7,434 votes. However, voting has only just begun.
