Zark’s Burgers celebrated its eighth year anniversary on Monday, Aug 28, with a special promo. They dropped their prices with a 95% discount. Coincidentally, it was also National Heroes Day which made everyone extra available on that day. Sure enough, a mob ensued chaos trying to get their hands on a P8-burger promo on Monday.
The local burger joint made an announcement via Facebook on Aug 25. It said the first 80 customers can avail of the Zark’s ultimate Burger for only P 8 on Aug 28. The promo was available in all branches and only one burger was allowed per customer. It also said it was valid for dine-in only and they will be served on a first come first served basis.
Zark’s Statment For Burger Riot
At SM North Annex, a small crowd was seen pushing security personnel who were in charge of crowd control. The crowd also caused inconveniences to other stores and people in the mall.
On their Official Facebook account, Zarks released a statement thanking the people for their support and apologized for the chaos caused by the mob.
The statement read, “We at Zark’s Burgers express our deep gratitude for the mammoth response to our P8 for first 80 customers in-store promo to celebrate our 8th anniversary. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience experienced by patrons and other mall shoppers unintentionally brought about by this celebration that was intended to thank all of you for 8 years of loyal support and patronage.”
“We would also like to thank all officers, mall managers and security teams for ensuring everyone’s safety. Thank you,” it added. It was a relief when the day ended and prices were back to normal. The event did not cause any major damages but risked people’s safety.
