Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Bet you’re squirming in your seat, just itching to watch the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel. Especially now that the extended trailer is out, giving us another minute’s worth of sneak peeks. With its release on social media platforms on Feb. 6, it’s had 18M views on Facebook and 18,000 likes on Twitter.

Guardians of the Galaxy Release Date, Cast, And More

With the release date on May 5, “Guardians of the Galaxy” Vol. 2 will complete our Marvel-movie triad since ‘Captain America: Civil War’ that released April 2016, and ‘Doctor Strange’ last November.

In this extended trailer, fans are greeted by a jam-packed galactic adventure. It features a lot of jetpacks, colorful aliens, a very hazardous bomb, and even more ‘I am Groot’ lines.

In James Dunn’s announcement of the film, he mentioned ‘a lot of ideas for the stories.’ He also admits that there will probably be a play of the movie’s structure- differences from Volume two as compared to its first volume. But do expect the same fresh and unique feel that it has provided its audience in the earlier film.

Aside from the idea that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) has a journey set out to find out the identity of his father, not much is known. In the first few seconds, it showcases the new character Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), a gold-coated queen. She seems to be vexed by Peter Quill’s presence and asks him just who does he think he is. To which he shrugged.

In the Comic-Con San Diego live interview last 2016, actress Elizabeth Debicki vaguely describes her character- careful not to reveal too much: “Ayesha is the leader of species of people we haven’t seen- the sovereign people, and she enlists the help of the guardians, and things turned quite sour. I’ll leave it at that.”

Help turned sour? Plus scenes of big guns and a gigantic squid-looking monster with a mouth that could devour a planet? All we know for certain is that we are welcome to frickin’ “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Even Josh Grad is hyped about the new trailer. He tweets:

He’s not alone, for even from across the globe, Hindi Movie Analyst Taran Adarsh posted the new movie poster of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 on his twitter account:

“Guardians of the Galaxy” hits Philippine theaters on April 26 and US theaters on May 5.
