WATCH: Janine Tugonon Sees NU Muses Calendar Photo – Her Reaction

Janine Tugonon, a Filipino model and more popularly known as Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner-Up and Miss Universe Philippines 2012 saw her nude photos for the first time last Sunday during the official reveal event. Captured on Instagram video, her reaction upon seeing the photos was one of joy and satisfaction.

As seen in the Instagram video, she was all smiling when she saw her photo. She was also heard saying, “They chose the ones I want,” referring to the photos of her lying on the sand and another one next to what looked like a rocky outcrop. As she was looking at each one, one of her companions said “This one is so cool,” referring to the beach photo. Janine also added that “this was exactly what I was thinking.”

One of 12 Models in NU Muses Calendar

Janine was one among the 12 models who posed for the NU Muses Calendar, which aims to “aims to revisit the classic art of nude,” according to a GMA News report. The Filipina model was reported to be part of the prestigious project in early October.

Renowned photographer David Bellemere shot the calendar project, which is being published by Treats! Magazine headed by Steve Shaw. According to Shaw, they envision the shots to be “worthy of gracing fine art galleries and walls.”

Since competing and winning first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant, Janine has been busy building her modelling career. She has not been active in the Philippine celebrity because she decided to move to the U.S. in 2013. Here are five things you need to know about this Filipina beauty.

1. She currently lives and works as a model in New York. She first tried making it in Los Angeles, but after discovering that her modelling career would have a better chance in New York, she moved there.
2. She admits that living and working in the U.S. is “very challenging” and said that there was a time she constantly worried about whether she was going to make enough for her daily expenses.
3. She was part of the Victoria’s Secret PINK Campaign. Perhaps one of her biggest breaks was being part of this campaign. In an interview with Preview magazine, she was asked if this also meant that she will be seen strutting the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show soon. Her reply to this was that the Fashion Show casting process was an entirely different one which she has yet to explore.

4. She holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Santo Tomas and became a licensed Pharmacist in 2010.

5. Aside from modelling, she also hopes to become an actress and would like to be cast in a movie or a TV series.
