What Twitterverse Thinks About Sarah Wurtzbach’s Rant Against Sister Pia Wurtzbach

“I’m your sister but I’ll be your worst enemy, no problem.”

That is the warning left by Sarah Wurtzbach against her sister Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in a series of scathing remarks on October 11.

It’s unclear what the root of the issue is but Sarah vented out her fury and frustrations against her sister and mother Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall on Instagram. She claimed that her sister refused to support her when she needed it most and that her mother, who she described as narcissistic, abused her. Sarah also mentioned money issues and how her sister would make insensitive remarks about her financial situation. Sarah even mentioned Pia’s ex-boyfriend Jeremy Jauncey in her rant. In the end, she demanded that Pia apologizes to her.

Netizens React to Sarah Wurtzbach’s Statement

The rant shocked netizens and immediately made rounds on social media. And as usual with celebrity scandals, everyone had different opinions to share.

Some Twitter users sympathized with her. One of them defended her saying that Sarah only wanted to open up. She also noted that no one knows the full story and lambasted her fellow netizens for drowning out her calls when it’s clear that she needs help.

One user also related to Sarah who tweeted, “Only narcissist’s victims can relate!” The user also mentioned that narcissistic parents usually compare their children, often pitting them up against each other and that Sarah’s mom is the problem, not Pia.

On the other hand, some netizens rallied to defend Pia. Some of them felt that Pia is under no obligation to support Sarah in the first place pertaining to the money issues that Sarah mentioned. A few even tweeted out that Sarah should’ve made sure she could support a family before starting one.

Meanwhile, regardless of who’s right or wrong, a few other netizens felt that issues like this shouldn’t have been aired out in public.

The following day after her rant, Sarah Wurtzbach apologized for her outburst and asked netizens not to bash her sister.

“Stop hating on Pia. Yes I am angry and still am, but your words will not fix anything,” Sarah said in a now-deleted Instagram story on Monday. “If anything, you’re condoning negativity and that’s what’s wrong with the world, and that’s what’s wrong with you. I’m fighting a long battle every day, and I’m sorry if I took it this far, but being silenced for many years takes a toll on you.”

In addition to that, Sarah also slammed netizens who followed her simply to get in on the gossip. “If [you’re] following for the sake of gossip for the sake of getting gossip, then just unfollow me. I’m not tolerating idiots that don’t understand the gravity of the situation.” she posted.

As of today, Pia has not made any statements. In a statement to PhilStar however, Pia’s management said that the issue is a private matter.

“This is a family matter so we respect their privacy. We pray for a peaceful reconciliation and healing for all concerned. Thank you,” Pia’s talent management agency said.
