Have you heard? A new season of Pinoy Big Brother just dropped, with quite an interesting twist! In this PBB Celebrity Collab Edition, we get to watch Kuya’s housemates from ABS-CBN and GMA live together and face the challenging tasks of the Pinoy Big Brother house!
With each unique and striking personality, it’s pretty hard to tell who can last sa Bahay ni Kuya. And just like any season of PBB, we definitely notice a pattern in these housemate personalities and archetypes. From Kuya’s Alpha Type to Kuya’s Face Card Holder, these housemates bring their own distinctive quirks to the house, making each season unforgettable. How about you? If you were inside Kuya’s house, what type of housemate would you be?
-
Kuya’s Alpha Type
They may not necessarily be the oldest in age, but surely they stand out sa Bahay ni Kuya with their strong and authoritative personality. By making sure that each housemate has an assignment, they ensure that every task is done right and properly. Though, don’t get them wrong; they’re not obsessive control freaks- they just want to get things done. This persona is specifically seen via Ashley Ortega, who was also one of the first task leaders.
-
Pinoy Big Ate / Kuya
Due to the wisdom that comes with their age, they are seen as the wisest in the house. Oftentimes, you’ll notice the housemates approach them to share their sentiments and troubles, seeking the comfort or advice of an ate or a kuya. When there’s conflict, they will do their best to be balanced and try to sort it out. Nevertheless, housemates shouldn’t entirely rely on them, because they have their own troubles to face as well. For this season of PBB, it looks like the role is given to Ate Kla/Klang, Klarisse de Guzman.
-
Pinoy Baby Bunso
Often perceived as childish or someone who needs guidance, these bunsos are not entirely troublemakers. With their high energy, they know how to bring the house alive, but they’re also quite the type to make mistakes. But don’t go underestimating them because of their age- they have quite the perspective in life too. Take, for example, Charlie Flemming, the youngest in this season of PBB. Early in the season, we already see houseguest Ivana Alawi gently calling her out for a mistake she made, while, Charlie was understanding, listening to Ivana with all ears.
-
Kuya’s Breadwinner
With the journey of working from a young age to becoming the family’s main provider, these breadwinners did not come to PBB to lose. Having unique experiences in hand, they also come into the house offering pieces of wisdom to their fellow housemates. After everything they’ve been through, these are the people who won’t easily back down, especially when it comes to Kuya’s tasks. A fun fact is almost all housemates this season are breadwinners- and this just means that everyone has to gear up for a long fight.
-
Kuya’s Joker
Havey or waley, this housemate knows exactly how to make the house echo in laughter. They’re found helpful during stressful times as they know how to break the ice and ease tense housemates. Bearing wit and charm as their main skill, they not only entertain their housemates but also the outside world. However, don’t take their funny personalities as it is- like any human being, they also have deep scars. Esnyr Ranollo, our favorite classmate, seems to be the light of this PBB season.
-
Kuya’s All Around MVP
Singing, dancing, acting- you name it! This housemate never fails to surprise both people inside and outside Kuya’s house. Their skills make them effortless assets during Kuya’s challenging tasks. Sometimes, they’re also a source of inspiration and entertainment for their fellow housemate. This was definitely true for AC Bonifacio, who is best known for her dancing prowess.
-
Kuya’s Face Card Holder
Any angle sa Bahay ni Kuya will not render this housemate unattractive! They may just be sitting on a couch munching on their snack and there would already be a TikTok edit made at the outside world. While they’re most remarkable for their looks, it doesn’t mean they’re necessarily limited to that. Take, for example, Brent Manalo, beyond the heartthrob that he is, he’s also a kind and reflective young man, being careful with his interactions with his fellow housemates.
A lot of personalities in one house, that’s for sure! But that’s why we Filipinos love this show! Pinoy Big Brother is reminiscent of what living in a Filipino household is like, and that’s why every episode hits like home. How about you, what type of housemate do you think you will be?
