POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: The Feb. 25 episode of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” on ABS-CBN kickedoff another exciting weekend of impersonations by the celebrity kids. YFSF Kids crowd favorite Xia Vigor performed as Apl.D.Ap while another favorite, Awra Briguela went on stage as comedy king Dolphy.

Last week’s winner, Sam Shoaf picked Kenny Rogers, while Elha Nympha will be imitating Sam Smith. Kid wonder Alonzo Muhlach picked his first female icon to impersonate: Cindy Lauper. Justin Alva got his namesake, Justin Timberlake, while Lyca Gairanod will perform as Whitney Houston. Dance sweetheart AC Bonifacio will take on Celine Dion.

#YFSFExceptionalKids Xia Vigor As Apl.D.Ap

Xia Vigor, the cutie kid and YFSF fan favorite, got an extra challenging icon this week. She picked rapper Apl.D.Ap, and during rehearsals, she struggled with the rap especially the rap in Filipino. She came on stage to sing Apl’s “Bebot.”

Based on the jury’s comments, she gave a very good performance. Judge Ogie said that it was well done and he commented that he does not know how the other kids will top her performance. Gary on the other hand said that even Apl.D.Ap will be very proud of her performance. He added that it was an incredible opening. Judge Sharon said that she was so amazed at how Xia is able do all the impersonations assigned to her. She gave her congratulations on Xia’s performance.

#YFSFExceptionalKids Sam Shoaf As Kenny Rogers

Talented cutie and double weekly winner Sam Shoaf picked country singer Kenny Rogers. His main challenge for this performance is how to get Kenny Roger’s voice. Their movement coach gave Sam tips on how to move like the country singer. Sam performed Kenny’s iconic song, “Through The Years.”

Sharon praised Sam for a very good performance. Judge Gary said that his moving from rap to country was like letters to numbers. But he commended Sam for saying that he can get to sing from the heart in this performance, which is exactly what Sam did tonight. Ogie on the other hand noted the challenge in getting the voice of Kenny Rogers but he praised Sam for getting Kenny’s subtle moves.

#YFSFExceptionalKids Justin Alva As Justin Timberlake

Justin Alva picked what seemed like a dream icon. During rehearsals, he said that he loved Justin Timberlake because he is good singer and dancer, and that he was always very confident. He came on stage to perform “Dance, Dance, Dance.”

When the judges were asked for their comments, Ogie said that he felt how nervous Justin was but otherwise called his performance “very good.” Sharon also felt his nerves during his performance. Gary said that what he liked about the performance was he saw Justin move just like Justin T.

#YFSFExceptionalKids Awra Briguela As Dolphy

Breakout star Awra Briguela picked comedy king Dolphy for his performance tonight. During rehearsals, he got tips from the coaches, particularly on how Dolphy would dance during his performance. He sang and danced Dolphy’s version of “Fly Me To The Moon.”

Sharon who called Awra her “happy,” said that Awra performed tonight with “a lot of heart.” Ogie congratulated him for his performance. He also told Awra to never forget this day when he successfully imitated such a great icon. Gary called Awra a “comedy princess” and added that even Dolphy would be proud of this performance.
