Tony-nominated actor Zachary Levi, was in the Philippines last week. It seems the actor has certainly dominated the country as he partied with Pinoys, ate the infamous balut with beer, and wondered the streets of the City of Dreams, Manila. Meanwhile, Angelica Panganiban went full on fangirl as she shared her conversation with the actor on Instagram.
Zachary is popularly known for portraying “Chuck” in the self-titled hit TV series from 2007-2012. His visit to the Philippines came as a surprise to everyone. Well, not everyone. At least folks from Operation Smile knew he was coming. According to a report by ABS-CBN, he was in the country to do a documentary for the international organization that does medical missions for individuals with cleft lip and palate.

On Tuesday, Aug 22, Zachary posted a photo on Instagram sharing a screenshot of balut eggs beside a bottle and a can of beer. He captioned the photo, “Balut and beer. Like ya do.” It seems the actor wanted to experience the country doing exactly what the locals do. He was as Cayuayan Isabela then.
On Aug 23, he was in Manila enjoying pizza and sushi at the Hyatt. He posted a snapshot of his meal captioned, “Pizza AND sushi? I died. I’m dead. Heaven has been located. #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings.” On the same day, he shared a couple of videos showing him partying with other Pinoys, doing what Pinoys do best, karaoke.
A few fans were wondering why he didn’t mention his visit to the Philippines. He answered them on Twitter saying he was hiding from Tony-award winner Lea Salonga. He and Lea share something common. Both lending their voices for Disney animated films. Levi was the voice actor for the Flynn Ryder in “Tangled,” while Lea was the singing voice for “Mulan” and Jasmine in “Aladdin.”
Meanwhile, actress Angelica Panganiban shares her fangirl moment on Instagram. Apparently, Angelica messaged the actor on Instagram on Aug 23. She said, “Would love to meet you.” It took some time but the actor did reply to her. Zachary said, “I’m about to fly home! But next time I’m in the PHL we’ll try and make it happen.” The message was cropped but he it seems he went on to say how Filipinos are unbelievably loving and kind.
On Angelica’s post, she shared how much of a fan she is of Chuck Bartowski. The actress also took the opportunity to invite people to check out operationsmle.org.
