“Pillowtalk” singer Zayn Malik and model Gigi Hadid, have decided to end their two and a half year relationship on March 13. Reports say it was their conflicting schedules that caused them to split. Fans thought that Zayn and Gigi would be in it for the long haul. Now that they’ve separated, this reminds us of yet more breakups that broke our hearts.

On a tweet the same day after announcing their breakup, Zayn said that they had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and that he has a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. He added that Gigi has an incredible soul and he’s grateful to all their fans for respecting the situation and their privacy.

Just 12 minutes after Zayn’s tweet, Gigi followed with her own tweet saying that breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years but she is forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that she and Zayn shared. She also said that she wanted nothing but the best for Zayn and she will continue to support him as a friend.

It seems that the two are trying their best to move on. Zayn just got two new tattoos following their breakup. The first one was a black rose on the back of his neck and the other one was in front of his neck. Gigi, on the other hand, was spotted in New York City on March 15, leaving her apartment with a smile and a bright outfit.

A source close to the couple told The Sun that even though they have decided to separate ways, they still remain friends. Zayn, however, surprised fans when he unfollowed Gigi and her mother Yolanda Hadid. Zayn’s move came as a shock since he was once very close to the Hadid’s family including Gigi’s mom. In an interview with Daily Mail in February, Yolanda said that Zayn is like a son to her and that she will support their relationship no matter what happens.
