The Korean boy band held a two-day concert in the Mall of Asia arena from May 6-7, but some incidents had their fans (called ARMYs) up in arms to defend their boys. For one, BTS main vocal and visual Jin was hit by a stuffed animal during the concert. For another, Liza Soberano tweeted a joke about BTS that had fans warning her to stay in their lane. BTS Jin gets hit in the head by a stuffed animal Poor Jin. A video uploaded on May 8 shows Jin on stage talking to fans during the concert. Then suddenly, a stuffed animal comes out of nowhere and hits him on the head. After looking in the direction the stuffed toy came from (some fans believe he was trying not to show anger), Jin turned and walked away. The culprit was believed to be an over-excited fan. Soon after the video was uploaded, ARMYs took to social media in anger and dismay. Some people commented on the video that the incident wasn’t funny and that Jin could have been hurt. ARMYs are also asking each other to think of BTS’ safety and not throw things on stage. Fans react to Liza Soberano tweets about BTS BTS has millions of fans from all around the world – and they have a huge following in the Philippines. To understand just how big they are, you should know that they sold out their Wings Manila concert on the first day tickets were released. People camped outside SM outlets waiting for tickets. Their online website even crashed from heavy traffic. With such a large and loyal fanbase, it’s no surprise that ARMYs will instantly defend their boys on social media. Unfortunately, the target this time was Liza Soberano. Bts as in behind the scenes? — Liza Soberano (@lizasoberano) May 6, 2017 The Filipina actress tweeted on March 6 about BTS’ name, asking if BTS stood for “Behind the Scenes.” The innocent question soon earned over 9,000 retweets and over 44,000 likes. Fans were divided. Some ARMYs thought Liza’s comment was hilarious and started tweeting their own versions of what BTS stood for. Others were less forgiving. Many BTS fans told the actress to stay in her lane and focus on her own work. @lizasoberano PS: pic.twitter.com/YVIB9TmKKy — jihan (@ss_shawarmy) May 6, 2017 Liza later tweeted what seems to be a response to the fan reaction, commenting that some people don’t understand sarcasm. Thankfully, around that time, more positive messages from ARMYs had started to come up. Some apologized on behalf of their fandom, while others told everyone to calm down over the incident. People wouldnt know sarcasm even if it slapped them right in the face. — Liza Soberano (@lizasoberano) May 6, 2017 @lizasoberano oN BEHALF OF MY FANDOM I AM SO SORRY BECAUSE SOME OF THE IMMATURE FANS IN THIS FANDOM ARE ASAR-ASAR U — Jo / shinegeng (@Watatapss) May 6, 2017 @lizasoberano Were just possessive sometime ? — biya?
