POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: The countdown is on for the search on the next kiddie resbaker who will make it to the Ultimate Resbak Day tomorrow, June 3!  Yesterday, four talented young artists took the stage and showed off what could be called outstanding performances. But the kiddie contender that rose above all others is Lift John Monteverde that sang ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.” He will advance to the Tawag ng Tanghalan Ultimate Resbak Day tomorrow.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids June 2 Performances, Friday winner

First Contender, Precious Galvez. This 10-year old kiddie resbaker sang a jazzy, upbeat Barbra Steisand song entitled “Don’t rain on my parade.” On the bleachers, Precious’ biggest fan made an appearance: her grandmother. Apparently she came all the way from Libya to support her granddaughter.

As the only female contender against three boys, she displays a confident stance on stage– a characteristic Judge Jed Madela found impressive. He compliments her expressive face that tunes in with the lyrical melody of the song. Jed says it was a ‘perfect performance.’

Second contender, Andre Tamura. Andre, a handsome little contender from Luzon sang the song “I Believe” by LeAnn Rimes. A very soulful song from this young resbaker vying to participate in the Ultimate Resbak Day tomorrow.

Judge K Brosas was quite pleased with this Andre’s performance and wished him a sweet, good luck on his next battle– hopefully on tomorrow’s final round.

Third contender, Iloilo, Galeno Rock Opong. Eleven-year-old Kiddie resbaker Rock sang something that described a lot about his genre preference in singing. Inspired by his father, he sang an iconic Original Pinoy Music known as “Awit ng Kabataan” by Rivermaya. With his lively performance on stage, matched with his gestures, this kid really knew his stage presence.

Judge Billy Crawford applauded Rock’s unfaltering energy and superb voice quality. He even called him ‘astig.’ Judge Billy also congratulated the other kiddie resbakers for their ‘stand-out’ singing that eventually led them to ‘excel in their craft which is singing and dancing.’

Fourth Contender, Rhein Macky Anuengo. The final contender is little resbaker Macky from Mindanao. He sang the song “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban– a very emotional performance that led his mother to tears.

Judge Karylle appreciated the song, saying it was a gift she needed to hear. With no more than positive comments for Macky, Judge Karylle left him with a sweet thank you message.

TNT Kids June 2 Friday kiddie resbaker. Four contenders took the TNT stage aiming to get that spot. Although there can only be one kiddie contender who wins today. The judges have decided that the kiddie contender who will advance to the Ultimate Resbak Day tomorrow, June 3 is kiddie resbaker from Luzon, Andre Tamura.
