Anime is one of Netflix’s most popular content categories, not only in Japan but all over the world. Approximately 90% of local subscribers watch anime, and on a global scale, about 50% of subscribers watched their favorite anime series and movies on the platform in the course of 2021 alone.

Filipino anime fans might be familiar with anime production companies like Studio Ghibli, Toei Animation, Madhouse Inc., and Kyoto Animation. And just recently, entertainment platform Netflix signed a deal with Japan’s Studio Colorido animation studio to expand its anime programming.

Although Studio Colorido may not *yet* be as widely known in Philippines compared to the aforementioned anime production companies, they sure have a shot to winning the hearts of Filipino anime-lovers.
