1. The King’s Affection (2021)

 

The King’s Affection is a Historical Romantic-Comedy drama that takes place during the Joseon Dynasty. Twins were considered a bad omen in that period. So when the Crown Princess Consort had twins (a boy and a girl) the girl is ordered to be killed but was secretly sent away from the castle in order to be saved.

Dam-yi, the twin daughter, returns to the palace a few years later to work as a maid. Things would soon be shaken up by a sudden tragedy, forcing Dam-yi to stand as her twin brother, and a budding yet complicated romance will soon start.  

 

2. Moon Embracing The Sun (2012)

Another historical period K-drama. GMA actually Filipino-dubbed and aired this show in 2012.  A poignant love story between a crowned king and a female shaman, showing the conflicts and conspiracies of competing political powers. Sweet, dramatic, and sad, this K-drama is a glimpse of how powerful love can get.

3. W – Two Worlds Apart (2016)

If you’re into reality-bending types of books, you’re probably gonna like this one. W – Two Worlds Apart, as the title implies, is about a conflict between “two worlds”: the real world and a webtoon alternate universe. It challenges the perspective and the possibilities about reality. So if plots like that interest you, give this one a go!

 

4. Hometown Cha Cha Cha (2021)

 

Like a pocketbook vibe, Hometown Cha Cha Cha is a simple and sweet Romantic-Comedy K-drama. Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a), a smart and pretty city dentist, loses her job and travels to Gongjin, a seaside village, where she meets jack-of-all-trades Hong Du-sik (Kim Seon-ho).
